HP sells one of the widest spreads of laptops in the US, from very cheap 14-inch machines to premium AI laptops. At the low end, HP 14, HP 15, HP 17 and Stream laptops handle web, email and documents, alongside a long list of HP Chromebooks for schools and families.
The OmniBook range is HP’s main consumer line. OmniBook 3 and 5 cover everyday use, the OmniBook 7 Flip and X Flip are 2-in-1s, and the OmniBook Ultra is the slim premium choice. Business buyers get the ProBook, and the Envy x360 convertible is still sold.
For gaming, Victus keeps the price down and OMEN Transcend puts real graphics in a slim body. HP’s cheaper laptops change names often, so compare the processor and memory rather than the name.
HP's new name for its consumer laptops, replacing Pavilion, Envy and Spectre over 2024 and 2025. OmniBook 3 and 5 are everyday laptops, OmniBook 7 is the step up, and OmniBook X and Ultra are the premium thin-and-light models.
Victus is HP's budget gaming line, with mainstream graphics cards. OMEN is the premium range, with faster graphics and better screens. The OMEN Transcend is the slim version, light enough to carry every day.
For light browsing and email, yes. Many have 4 GB of memory and small eMMC storage, which fills up fast and slows down with several tabs open. If you can stretch, 8 GB of memory and 256 GB of SSD storage make a big difference.
Anything with Flip or x360 in the name. The screen folds back 360 degrees, so you can use it as a tablet or stand it up like a tent.
